CTS is hiring a detail-oriented, focused, and hands-on Automation Controls Engineer to be the subject-matter expert for our Blue Ash, Ohio Technology Center location. This is an onsite position due to the hands-on nature of the role.  
 
What You’ll Be Doing
Design and integrate new equipment into CTS production spray cells.  (Examples would be integrating turn tables, air solenoids, spray systems, spindle stations PLC’s, HMI’s, and/or safety devices with our existing Fanuc robots.)
Develop full electrical schematics for integration purposes.  
Procure necessary equipment and build/wire all control cabinets for integration.
Take existing automation previously built at CTS and leverage that automation in specific areas across all CTS sites.
Work with engineering teams to define and integrate equipment to support new products and/or processes.
Work with engineering teams to integrate new quality inspection systems, such as various vision systems and/or measuring systems.
Performs other tasks as necessary.
 
More About You
5 years of hands-on experience within equipment automation and/or controls, preferred.
Ability to work independently but liaison frequently with production site personnel.
Comfortable being the subject matter expert (SME) on site.
Working understanding of mechanical integration of manufacturing equipment.
Proficient in PLC ladder logic.  Must be able to create and document new programs, and trouble shoot existing control systems, equipment PLC programs, HMI’s, and equipment.
Must have hands-on experience with wiring control cabinets.
Capable of creating full electrical schematics of the automation controls.
Working knowledge of operation and programing of robots (Fanuc preferred).
Able to oversee and manage projects from beginning to end. 
 
Travel Requirements
This position will require up to 25% travel annually.
